Volleyball outlasts Lions in Southland opener

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi volleyball team defeated Southeastern, La., 3-2, on Thursday evening at the University Center in Hammond, La.
- The Islanders improved their record to 4-4 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. The Lions fall to 2-6 and 0-1 in Southland action.
- The five set match went back and forth all evening. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the first, third and fifth sets while SLU won sets two and four.
- Madison Green recorded her third straight triple-double for the Islanders. The senior had 31 assists, 11 digs, 10 kills and four service aces while hitting .304 for the match with just three attacking errors.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is now 14-1 all time against Southeastern Louisiana. The Islanders have now won six straight against the Lions dating back to the 2014 season.

- The Islanders' best set came in the fifth, hitting .333 with 11 kills and four errors.
- The Lions were held to a .069 attack percentage in the first and a .075 attack percentage in the third.

- Head coach Steve Greene is now 4-0 against Southeastern Louisiana.
