Men's basketball signs Jordan Hairston

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi head men's basketball coach Willis Wilson has announced the signing of Jordan Hairston to a National Letter of Intent. Hairston is a 6'0" point guard from Centreville, Va.

"We are extremely excited about the addition of Jordan to our basketball program," said Wilson. "His capacity to change speeds and decision making allows him to be very effective in transition and in the half court. In addition to his ability to run a team and score the basketball, Jordan's court vision and talent of making plays for his teammates will fit very well with our style of play. I really love his energy."

A first team all-state performer at Flint Hills High School and coach Rico Reed, Hairston earned district and regional Player of the Year honors and was also named to the All-MEP team. He won MVP honors at the Tip Off and Winterfest tournaments while being named his team's co-MVP. Hairston averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc, 45 percent from the field and 92 percent at the free throw line.

Hairston has netted career highs of 35 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and six steals during his prep career. He played for the District Basketball Club and AAU coach Devin Williams. Rodney Hairston, Jordan's father, played collegiately at George Mason. When he arrives on the Island, Hairston intends on majoring in business.
