CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi head men's basketball coach
Willis Wilson has announced the signing of Aristotelis Sotiriou to a National Letter of Intent. Sotiriou is a 6-8 forward from Athens, Greece.
"We are extremely excited about the addition of Aristotelis Sotiriou to our basketball program and family," said Wilson. "Aris is a very focused, skilled, versatile player who plays with a big time motor. His experience playing for his National Team has prepared him to step in and contribute immediately. Aris' ability to pressure the rim and stretch the floor fits really well with what we like to do offensively. We believe Aris has all the characteristics we look for in a young man and student-athlete."
Sotiriou attended the Doukas School in Greece. He was a member of the Greek national team, winning a pair of U18 National Championships. He helped lead his team to a second place finish in the 16U Second Division European Championship finish in 2016. Sotiriou averaged 20.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He connected on 60 percent of his field goal tries, 70 percent of his free throw attempts and was a 40 percent three point shooter.
