CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi softball team will head to Hammond, La., for the Lion Classic starting on Friday, Feb. 15. The Islanders wil play four games this weekend. Fans can follow

On Friday, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will face UTSA at 1 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. contest against Missouri State. On Saturday, the Islanders take on Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 11 a.m. and host Southeastern Louisiana in a non-Southland contest at 1:30 p.m.
Freshman
Kennedy Johnson is hitting .333 with four hits and a 0.667 slugging percentage. She has five RBIs, one home run and eight total bases. Junior
Emily Vela is hitting .308 with a .400 on base percentage.
Up next is the home opener for the Islanders on Wednesday, Feb. 20, with a doubleheader against Prairie View A&M at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Chapman Field. Tickets can be purchased
