CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-corpus Christi softball team finalized two additions for the 2027 season, announced by head coach Mark Montgomery.
The Islanders will see a collegiate veteran make her return to Corpus Christi with the signing of transfer Rayven Ramos. On the other end, A&M-Corpus Christi will welcome first-year Ambrielle Linscombe who will make her collegiate debut in blue and green.
Ramos is a 5'7 outfielder returning to her hometown after spending the previous two seasons competing in the SWAC at Alabama A&M. Ramos graduated from Tuloso Midway High School in 2023, where she helped lead the softball team to a Co-District Championship in 2022 and earned All-District First Team honors each year from 2021-23. She went on to Lamar State College at Port Arthur her first year of college ball before heading to Alabama A&M and now returning to her hometown for her senior season.
"Rayven is a local girl coming home," said Montgomery. "She has experience at both the Junior College and Division I level. Rayven has exceptional speed and a lefty bat. Look for her to compete in the outfield and boost our team's ability to manufacture runs."
Linscombe is a 5'5 Texas product coming to the Island from Angleton where she played as an outfielder for Angleton High School. She helped guided the squad to repeat as District Champions in 2024 and 2025, additionally earning individual honors herself from 2024-26 by being named to the All-District Second Team all three years. Linscombe also competed in the classroom, graduating top-10 in her class and receiving Academic All-District recognition.
"Ambi is a freshman who really stayed on our radar throughout the process. Her game has continued to grow as we watched her play this last season. She is an amazing culture fit and a true team player. Ambi will make our team better not only because of her abilities, but because of her work ethic and all-out effort," said Montgomery.
