• The Islanders opened the 2019-20 season with a 75-55 victory over the University of St. Thomas inside the Dugan Wellness Center on Tuesday night. The win over the Celts marked A&M-Corpus Christi's eighth consecutive win in a season opener. 
• The Bears of Missouri State also opened this season 1-0, defeating No. 23 ranked Minnesota, 77-69 on Tuesday night in Minneapolis, Minn. 
• Friday's WNIT matchup will mark the first time that Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Missouri State have squared off.
