Women's basketball inks five on National Signing Day

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi head women's basketball coach Royce Chadwick has announced the addition of five young women to his program via National Signing Day, bringing in Eliyjah Pricebrooks, Paige Allen, Delayna Gillard, Jade Thompson and Nabaweeyah McGill. With the Islanders set to lose eight seniors following this year (F Alexes Bryant, G La'Janeira Robinson, G Dae Dae Evans, G Emma Young, G Dalesia Booth F Arhianna Sims-Jackson, G Sydney-Anne Cottrell and F Tiara Matthews), Chadwick and his staff aimed to build depth across the roster with two high-end point guards/combo guards (Pricebrooks and Gillard), two guards/forwards (Allen and Thompson) and one athletic slashing forward (McGill).

Hometown: Las Vegas, Nev.
High School: Desert Oasis High School
Position: Point Guard/Combo Guard
Height: 5'5''
Notable Stats: Junior season |16 points/game | 7 assists/game | 5 rebounds/game | 3 steals/game  
Awards/Recognition: All USA Today Nevada Team; two-time all-state selection; All-Area Super7; three time all-league honors; two-time team MVP
Head Coach Royce Chadwick: "Eliyjah is a floor general, great leader, outstanding shooter and everything you want in a college player on the perimeter."


Name: Paige Allen
Hometown: Kansas City, Mo.

Position: Guard/Forward

Notable Stats: Junior season | 26 points/game | 13 rebounds/game | program's all-time leading scorer with 1,685 career points entering senior year.
Awards/Recognition: All-State (junior); All-District (sophomore & junior); All-Conference first team (sophomore & junior); all-tournament team at Winnetonka, Oak Park and Grain Valley tournaments (sophomore & junior); Hy-Vee Player of the Week (junior) 
Head Coach Royce Chadwick: Paige leads by example and can flat score the basketball. She can attack the rim or shoot the three and is a tenacious defender. Paige can play any position on the floor."

Hometown: Daytona, Fla.

Position: Point Guard/Combo Guard
Notable Stats: Junior season | 12.1 points/game | 7 assists/game | 6.3 steals/game 
Awards/Recognition: 9A State Champion (sophomore); 9A District Champion (junior); All-Area First Team

Position: Guard/Forward

Awards/Recognition: Newcomer of the Year (sophomore); All-District First Team.
Head Coach Royce Chadwick: Jade can get to the rim or shoot the three.  She is a hard-working athletic wing that enjoys the physicality of the game.  Tremendous collegiate upside and a tenacious defender."
Name: Nabaweeyah McGill
