CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Following a victorious road trip to Texas Southern over the weekend, the Islanders' soccer program (3-2-1) returns home to host their Southland Conference opener against Sam Houston State (1-6-1, 0-1 Southland), facing off with the Bearkats Friday evening at 7 p.m. With a victory over Sam Houston State, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi would not only earn its first program win over the Bearkats (0-5-0 all-time), but also would snap the school mark for longest unbeaten streak (five matches) in Islanders soccer history.Â
