Soccer Hosts Southland Opener vs. Incarnate Word, Travels to Texas Southern

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - After a week away from the pitch, the Islanders' soccer program (2-2-1) aims to continue building on its three-match unbeaten streak as the squad preps its Southland Conference opener against Incarnate Word (0-4-0), battling the Cardinals Friday evening at 7 p.m. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi captured late success last Friday in its matchup with Prairie View A&M, knocking out the Panthers with an 82' goal from sophomore Addison Urbanus.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi closes out the weekend with a trip up to Houston, Texas, facing off with Texas Southern in the team's final nonconference match of the year. The Islanders last battled the Tigers in 2014 -- just a year following the sport's founding at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi -- defeating TSU by a 3-0 mark in the program's third overall victory.
