Islander Athletics is proud to announce that the "Contender CrossFit" Islander Open, an officially sanctioned Intercollegiate Tennis Association ( ITA) event, is coming to Corpus Christi this weekend! I cannot begin to thank Contender CrossFit and David Harris enough for their support and generosity to make this event possible! This is the 4th Straight Year that Contender CrossFit has been our title sponsor!
Matches start Friday at 9 a.m. at the Islanders Thomas J. Henry tennis center (400 Nile drive). Matches will be played all day Friday and Saturday with the finals Sunday at 11 AM. Teams Playing are: Louisiana Lafayette, Rice, UTSA, Lamar, UTRGV, Incarnate Word, Texas A&M Kingsville, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
In case of rain, the Corpus Christi Athletic Club (2101 Airline Rd.) has been generous enough to allow us to use their indoor courts at their tremendous facility! We are extremely grateful to the Corpus Christi Athletic Club for allowing this tournament to continue in case of rain.
Lunch Will be served every day from Jason's deli for all players and coaches. We also want to give a special thanks to Jason's deli and Pat O'Boyle for their long-term support and generosity of islanders tennis and Islanders athletics.
This is the 13th consecutive year the Islanders will host an ITA sanctioned event in both the fall and spring, bringing high-level in NCAA D-1 Tennis to Corpus Christi and this great community!
