- The Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi volleyball team fell to LSU and USF at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La., on Friday.
- The matches were part of the LSU Tiger Classic.
- The host Tigers won the first match of the day, 3-0, but the Islanders fought the Bulls all the way to the end, falling 3-2 in a thrilling five-set match.
Match One Key Statistics (LSU 3, Islanders 0)
- The Tigers won all three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-19.
- The Islanders best set came in the third as the team hig .286 with just three attacking errors.
- Madion Green led the way with nine kills, seven digs and six assists in the opening match. The junior hit .304 with just two attacking errors.

Chloe Simon had seven kills and five digs. She also added a block and recorded an assist.

Mackenzie Coates had 16 assists, three digs, two kills and a service ace.

Liza Buzhanski each had five digs in the match.
Match Two Key Statistics (South Florida 3, Islanders 2)
- The Bulls took the first set, 25-16, but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi responded with a 25-19 second set win. USF would win the third, 25-17, and the Islanders battled back with a 25-20 fourth set win. In the fifth, the Bulls took the set and the match, 15-12.
- The Islanders hit .196 for the match while holding USF to just .163 with 26 attacking errors.

Rachel Young had 12 kills to go along with three blocks and three digs. She hit .250 for the match.

Jenna Lyons added a season-high 11 kills.
- Green recorded her ninth career double-double and her first career triple-double with 33 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills. She added a block and tied a career-high with three service aces.
- Simon had a career-high 11 digs to go along with 10 kills. She added a pair of blocks.
- Krenek had a career-high 26 digs with a service ace.
- Buzhanski and
Angel Felan each set career-highs in digs, recording 14 and 10, respectively.
Match Two Key Sequences
- In the second set, the Bulls looked to pull even with a 3-0 run that made it a 16-15 match. But the Islanders responded with a 3-0 run of their own to maintain a safe distance. The teams would trade points back and forth until the Islanders got back-to-back kills from Green and Simon to make it 23-18. A USF attack error gave Texas A&M-Corpus Christi set point at 24-18. The Bulls would get a point back on the next play but a kill from Simon gave the Islanders the second set to even the match.
- With the fourth set tied, 17-17, the Islanders went on a 5-1 run to take a 22-18 lead. After USF got a point back, Lyons came up with a kill to make it 23-19. A USF double-touch gave the Islanders set point at 24-19. The Bulls were able to manage another kill but
Sam Dumity put the set away with a kill off an assist from Green to give Texas A&M-Corpus Christi the set and even the match, 2-2.
