Islanders Turn Attention to Texas State

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Islanders' soccer program (0-2) shifts focus to visiting Texas State (1-3) on Friday evening as the young squad aims to pick up its first win of the season. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters the match owning the bragging rights between the two programs after having upended the Bobcats on the road last year in a 2-1 victory.

• Head Coach Craig Shaw enters his second season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
• The Islanders won a program-record six games last season.
• The match will serve as the fourth overall meeting between the two programs, with the Islanders trailing the Bobcats 1-2-0 all-time.
• Islander Mariah Ramon helped push Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to its first win over Texas State last season, knocking in a the first goal of an eventual 2-1 victory.
• The team sports two lone seniors: D Kaitlyn Joy and GK Abbie Flax.
• This year's roster is highlighted by 13 newcomers (12 freshmen, one sophomore).
• This season's depth chart features 19 players from Texas, five from Colorado, two from Kansas and one from each Nebraska and Arizona.
