NSU Edges Islanders in Series Finale

Box Score Natchitoches, La. - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi dropped the last game of the series on Saturday against Northwestern State, 8-0 in 5 innings. 

After staying even through the first 3 innings, the Lady Demons came out in the bottom of the 4th scoring 6 to gain momentum finishing out the game with 2 more runs scored in the bottom of the 5th. The Islanders were outhit by the Lady Demons 9-3. The lead off hitter for NSU went 3-for-4 at the plate scoring 2 runs.

IN THE CIRCLE
>> Starting for the Blue and Green, Ashley Smith gave up 5 hits out of the 20 batters she faced during the 3.2 innings that she pitched
>> Freshman, Alexis Tovar, came into the circle for the Blue and Green in the bottom of the fourth striking out 2 batters

>> Vincent doubled to left center before scoring off a hit to left field from Salmans
>> Alexis Tovar came into pitch for the Blue and Green
>> The Lady Demons finished the inning with 6 runs, 3 hits, 1 error, and 1 left on base

>> Vincent singled to the right side
>> Salmans bunted advancing Vincent to second
>> Matt doubled down the right field line scoring Vincent, extending the lead to 7-0
>> Jones reached on a fielders choice scoring Salmans to end the game
>> Northwestern State ended the inning with 2 runs, 3 hits, 0 errors, and 2 left on base
