Southland Conference play continues against Northwestern State

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi looks to continue its Southland season with a three-game stint against Northwestern State this Friday through Sunday. The Islanders went 2-1 against the Demons the previous season, outscoring NSU 26-16 in 2017.

The Blue and Green are on a two-game win streak after dropping UTRGV and Houston-Victoria in the midweek, by respective scores of 6-5 and 11-0. The Islanders clinched this year's South Texas Showdown rivalry, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union, after beating the Vaqueros on Tuesday, and run-ruled the UHV Jaguars for a second straight meeting on Wednesday.

SCOUTING THE DEMONS
>> Starting their conference season with a series win at Nicholls, the Demons are currently on a two-game losing streak after dropping decisions to Louisiana Tech and Nebraska

>> First baseman David Fry has collected 10 doubles this year, the 10th most in all of Division I baseball

COMING UP NEXT
After their three game series against NSU, the Islanders prepare to face No. 11 Texas A&M at Whataburger Field on Tuesday at 6:35 PM. The Blue and Green is 3-0 when playing at Whataburger Field this year after sweeping the Kleberg College Classic in late February.
