CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Softball prepare to host a three-team weekend tournament on Chapman Field, including Nebraska-Omaha, Utah State, and Texas Southern. First pitch of the weekend's tournament is at 10 a.m. on Friday against Utah State. The Islanders move forward into Saturday's doubleheader, facing Nebraska-Omaha at 1 p.m. and Utah State at 3:15 p.m. The Blue and Green will finish off the weekends trio tournament, with another doubleheader on Sunday against Nebraska-Omaha at 11 p.m. and Texas Southern at 1 p.m.
PREVIOUS GAME ON THE ISLAND
Islanders come into this weekend tournament from a split doubleheader on Wednesday against Prairie View A&M. The Blue and Green fell short in the first game Wednesday going 1-5 against Prairie View. Tides shift as the Islanders tame the Panthers with an 8-0 victory on the second competition. Johnson and Dunn held the Islanders up as both registered a 0.667 BA and a single RBI in the secondary game against PVAMU.
