Islanders Open at Home on Wednesday

Corpus Christi, Texas - After two weekends on the road, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi anchors down on the Island for their first home games of the year in a doubleheader against Prairie View-A&M on Wednesday at 1 p.m & 3 p.m.  

Corpus Christi (3-5) returns from Hammond, La. after going 2-3 against Southeastern Louisiana, Belmont, Detroit, and Nebraska-Omaha in the Lion Classic.  The Islanders lost their opening contest against Southland Conference foes Southeastern Louisiana, before earning a 4-3 win over Belmont and splitting a Sunday doubleheader with the Bruins and Nebraska-Omaha.

>> Junior outfielder Kayla Sheridan leads the team in hitting, batting .500 going 10-for-20 at the plate with 4 runs
>> Out of the 6 games Ashley Smith has played, she holds the best ERA of .341
>>Freshman Taelor Thomas and Kayla Sheridan have both already tallied four stolen bases this season, and have yet to be caught on the base paths this year

>> The home record against the Panthers is 13-4, with an overall of 22-5
