CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Coming off a 2-1 series win at UT-Arlington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi looks to continue its hot start to the season at Edinburg this Tuesday. The Islanders have taken seven of their last nine decisions against this week's opponent UTRGV, and will try to improve their overall record against the Vaqueros, which currently sits at 7-2.
Corpus Christi registered 26 hits against the Mavericks over three games this past weekend, while all nine players tallied a knock over the course of the series. The Blue and Green took wins on Friday and Sunday to finish the series 2-1, opening the season with a series win for the third time in the last four years.
The Islanders' competition this week will be the first leg of a home-and-home series with UTRGV, looking to win their share of the South Texas Showdown, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union for a third straight year.
