Box Score HAMMOND, La. - Playing away from Chapman field, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi held a tough loss in their opening game of the Lion Classic against host, Southeastern Louisiana.
The Islanders kept the Lions on their heels as
Whitney Wendel,
Kayla Sheridan, and
Avery Ratcliff loaded the base's early in the third, but SELU closed out the inning keeping the contest at 0-0. While having a scoreless game throughout the first three innings, the Lions broke through with a single run at end of the fourth and a five run streak late in the sixth putting the final score at 6-1.

Kayla Sheridan retained the Blue and Green in offensive motion as she held a batting average of 0.667.
