- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi volleyball team fell to Houston Baptist University in five sets, 3-2, on Thursday evening at the Dugan Wellness Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- The Islanders are now 3-4 in Southland Conference play. Houston Baptist improves to 3-4 in league action and 10-11 overall.

Sam Dumity set a career high in kills with 13, points with 17.5, and aces with three. She also added five digs, three blocks and two assists.

Chloe Simon set a career high in digs with 17. The sophomore added nine kills to go along with a pair of service aces, a block and an assist.
Key Islander Statistics
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took the first set, 25-22, before the Huskies took the second set 25-10. The Blue and Green came back to win the third 25-23 before Houston Baptist won the last two, 25-21 and 15-13, to win the match.
- The Islanders best set came in the third, hitting .227 with 16 kills.

Kaylee Payne set a new career high in digs with 24, her first career 20+ dig match. She also added an assist in the match.

Madison Green had a career high with 47 assists to go along with eight digs, two service aces, a kill and a block.

Rachel Young had 12 kills, two blocks and a dig. She hit .286 for the match on 28 total swings.

Kylie Filipiak had eight kills a dig and a block.

Julia Carter finished the night with 11 kills, her fifth match this season in double figures in kills. She had a pair of blocks, two digs and a service ace.

Key Islander Sequence
- In the first set, the Blue and Green pushed through to win the set 25-22. After going back-and-fourth, a kill from Dumity off an assist from Green extended the Islanders' lead to 24-21 before HBU went on to score two more times. After an Islander timeout, Young put away a kill to take the set for A&M-Corpus Christi.
- In a close third set, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi came out on top to take it 25-23. The Blue and Green started off strong, going up 8-4 on the Huskies which included a 4-0 run. The set remained back-and-forth between both teams as the set featured nine ties and three lead changes. A kill from Houston Baptist tied the score 23-23 late in the set. A kill from Simon gave the Islanders set point. On the next sequence a bad set from the Huskies gave A&M-Corpus Christi the point and the 2-1 set lead..
