CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Athletic Club have reached a three-year deal for the naming rights to the Islanders' basketball court.
The Corpus Christi Athletic Club Court at the American Bank Center will serve as the home for both the Islanders men's and women's basketball programs beginning this fall and continuing through 2020.
"Corpus Christi Athletic Club is the preeminent fitness club in the region and we are thrilled to begin our partnership with the CCAC front and center at Islanders basketball," said Director of Athletics
Scott Lazenby. "As the official court sponsor, the Corpus Christi Athletic Club brand will go hand-in-hand with our continued growth and success on the hardwood."
Fervent Islanders supporters, the Susser family continues their long-standing partnership with the Blue and Green. Along with the newly minted Corpus Christi Athletic Club Court, the partnership will also see the CCAC sponsor tennis and women's golf on the Island.
"Our family began its relationship with the Islanders Athletics Department before the University hired its first Athletic Director," commented Sam L. Susser. "We believe the growth and success of the athletic program is a tremendous asset that we should all be proud of. The Corpus Christi Athletic Club is committed to being the premier athletic club in South Texas, just like the Islanders are committed to being the premier University in our region."
