CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball opens Southland Conference play Thursday night at Southeastern Louisiana before continuing on to New Orleans on Saturday.
The Islanders are chasing their third consecutive Southland Conference championship and carry a 38-match winning streak against SLC opponents into the weekend. Corpus Christi has gone over 1,000 days since its last loss in the Southland.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Southeastern Louisiana enters Thursday's matchup at 2-11 after non-conference play. Savannah Alcazar and Chloee Holden lead the Lion attack with 83 and 80 kills, respectively. As a team, the Lions hit just .114 on the season through 13 matches.
The Lions were swept by Mississippi State in their most recent outing, falling 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, to the Bulldogs. Holden led that effort with eight kills while Jodi Edo finished with seven.
Defensively, the Lions have allowed opponents to hit .249 on the year. Southeastern is led in digs by Lexie Torres at 129, averaging 3.39 per set. At the net, Tempestt Vaughn paces the blocking effort with 29 rejections to average 0.79 per set.
The Islanders are 12-1 all-time against the Lions and have swept each of the last three meetings.
ON TO NEW ORLEANS
UNO enters the weekend at 6-6 after non-conference action and will face UIW on Thursday before welcoming the Islanders to town.
Outside hitter Blessing Dunn leads the attack for the Privateers with 107 kills on the season to average 2.33 per set. Kaitlyn Grice and Land Hindenburg round out the main threats with 92 and 81 kills on the year, respectively.
The Privateers hit .189 on the season while holding opponents to a .202 clip. Dunn also leads the club in digs, racking up 139 on the year. Libero Andrea Nava adds another 127. Grice has made hay at the net, racking up 57 blocks to average a league-best 1.30 on the year.
DOWN THE ROAD
The Islanders face a three-match week following the swing in Louisiana as they head to UIW on Tuesday before welcoming Nicholls and McNeese to the Island on Thursday and Saturday.
