CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The South Texas Showdown presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union concludes Tuesday when Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball travels to UTRGV for a 7 p.m. first pitch against the rival Vaqueros.
Â
The Islanders have already clinched the inaugural season of the South Texas Showdown, leading the series 36-20.

Tuesday's trip to the Valley marks the final midweek game for the Islanders as well as the final non-conference game of the season. Following the midweek trip to UTRGV, the Islanders head to Southland-leading McNeese for a three-game series in Lake Charles, La., this week.
Â
Corpus Christi has earned victories in each of its last six trips to UTRGV, including the series sweep earlier this season.
Â
The Islanders enter the week after winning Sunday's finale against Central Arkansas. The Blue and Green hit .333 as a team in the series with the Bears as five different Islanders recorded four hits on the weekend.
