The three-game set between the Islanders and Lumberjacks will get underway with a 6 p.m. first pitch on Friday night.

The Islanders are aiming to build momentum for the stretch run of Southland Conference play as the Blue and Green makes a push for the conference tournament. SFA presents no small task as the Lumberjacks sit third in the league standings and may be the hottest club in the Southland, winning 11 of their past 12 conference games.

For Corpus Christi, Friday marks the beginning of six straight Southland Conference games at home as the Islanders look to make a move in the league standings.

Redshirt freshman
Dustin Lacaze will get the ball to open the series for the Islanders. Lacaze is coming off of back-to-back stellar starts, going six deep against Southeastern Louisiana before carrying a shutout into the eighth last week at Lamar.

SFA is led by Josh Evans at the plate. Evans hits .395 on the season with seven home runs and 22 RBI. Veteran Zac Michener paces the Lumberjacks with 36 RBI on the season. On the bump for SFA, Patrick Ledet will get the call on Friday night. Ledet owns a 5-2 mark with a 4.01 ERA on the year.

Following the weekend series with the Lumberjacks, the Islanders head to College Station on Tuesday for a midweek bout with No. 20 Texas A&M.
