CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball plays host to Northwestern State in the first home Southland Conference series of the season.
The Islanders (7-14, 0-3) and Demons (5-14, 1-2) are scheduled to open the series at 6 p.m. Friday night at Champan Field before following with a 4 p.m. contest Saturday and noon finale Sunday.

SERIES VS. NORTHWESTERN STATE
The Demons own a 25-14 advantage in the all-time series. In the 2016 series played in Natchitoches, La., Northwestern State swept the Islanders with all three games being decided by two runs or less.
In the most recent meeting in Corpus Christi, the Islanders took the finale of another neck-and-neck series. The Blue and Green claimed a 2-1 win in the Sunday game.
LAST TIME OUT
The Islanders enter the weekend fresh off a 10-8 win over UIW at Chapman Field. A trio of freshmen led the Blue and Green at the plate as
Luke Marbach,
Dalton Stark and
Itchy Burts all had two-hit nights.
Marbach drove in three runs and tripled while Stark added a pair of RBI and Burts drove in one. Veterans
Cullen Jozwiak and
Nick Anderson also produced two-hit nights in the victory.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the weekend series the Islanders will go downtown to Whataburger Field to host the Texas Longhorns on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 6:30 and tickets are available for purchase through the Corpus Christi Hooks box office.
