CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Fresh off a seventh-straight win and homecoming victory, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi hits the road to take on Abilene Christian Wednesday night at Moody Coliseum.
 
The Islanders (16-9, 9-5) and Wildcats (12-13, 6-8) are meeting for the second time this season. A&M-Corpus Christi won the previous meeting by a 72-60 score and never trailed in the game. The Islanders have now won all six meetings between the two programs and are 3-0 in Abilene.
 
SEVEN POINTS, SEVEN WINS
>> A&M-Corpus Christi picked up win number seven in a row on Saturday night against Lamar in 70-63 fashion to cap off homecoming.
>> The hottest team in the Southland Conference, the seven-game winning streak marks a season long for Corpus Christi.
>> The Islanders now find themselves in third place in the Southland Conference standings, a game behind SFA and two behind conference leader New Orleans.
 
THOMAS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
>> Forward Rashawn Thomas earned his second Southland Conference Player of the Week recognition after an offensive onlsaught against UIW and Lamar.
>> Thomas averaged 30.5 points between the two contests, going for 32 at UIW and 29 against Lamar.
>> The senior leads the league with 21.3 ppg and 8.7 rebounds. Thomas sits 15th nationally in scoring.
 
BREAKING THE GLASS
>> Rashawn Thomas capped his incredible week by breaking the Islanders' all-time rebounding mark previously held by Demond Watt.
>> Thomas now has 857 career rebounds after passing Watt with his 852nd.
 
EHAB ENTERS RARE TERRITORY
>> The nation's leader in steals per game, Ehab Amin is two swipes shy of tying former teammate Hameed Ali's single-season record of 88.
>> Amin is averaging just shy of 3.5 steals a contest, the highest mark in Islanders history.
>> The junior is also closing in on Ali's career-record of 193 steals. Amin currently sits 13 shy of that mark at 180.
 
LAST TIME VS. ACU
>> The Islanders claimed a 72-60 victory over ACU in the previous meeting back on January 25. The win was the second of the current seven-game streak.
>> Thomas went for a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting.
>> Ehab Amin dropped in 23 points and Joseph Kilgore added another 10 to the effort.
>> The Islanders limited ACU to 38-percent shooting on the night.
