CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's
Dalton Stark will represent the Islanders' baseball program at next month's 14th South Texas Winter Baseball Banquet, to be held at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center on January 18th.Â
After leading the Islanders in batting average (.325), doubles (15) and total bases (99) during the 2017 season, Stark earned Honorable Mentions on last year's Southland All-Conference team and an SLC Hitter of the Week honor during the first week of May.Â
As the only player to start in each of Corpus Christi's 54 games last season, Stark was a mainstay in the Islanders' outfield, with a near perfect .992 fielding percentage and just a single error on the year. The rising senior's 21 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs both ranked second during his first year on the Island, as the Cypress, Texas native transferred from Alvin Community College before the start of the 2017 season.
As one of 11 seniors on Corpus Christi's current roster, Stark is staged to be one of the team's leaders both on and off the field in 2018, as he and the rest of the Blue and Green look to return to the Southland Conference Tournament for the sixth time in eight years.
All tickets for this season's South Texas Winter Baseball Banquet can be purchased at the Whataburger Field Box Office, or ordered by phone at 361-561-HOOK (4665).
