CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters this Sunday's match at Northwestern State, coming off one of their biggest wins of the year. The Islanders are riding high after a 3-1 win on the road at defending Southland Champions Central Arkansas, where all three of their tallies came in the second half.
The Islanders meet an NSU side that sits last in the SLC standings and is on a three match losing streak, while Corpus Christi currently sits in a tie for ninth in the Southland. The Islanders' offensive production against the Bears ties a season-high in goals for the Blue and Green this season. Corpus Christi will hope that that high-octane offense continues, while playing an NSU side that averages 2.21 goals against.
While the Demons are prone to giving up goals in high numbers they are also the highest scoring team in the Southland with 2.31 goals scored per match. They face one of the stingiest defenses in the conference however, with the visiting Islanders boasting a 1.23 GAA on the year. The Blue and Green won its previous matchup against the Demons, shutting out NSU 1-0 inside of Dugan and hold a 1-3 record against Northwestern State all-time.
