CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer team returns to action this weekend with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday against Stephen F. Austin and a Sunday contest with Sam Houston State at 1 p.m.

Gates open one hour before kickoff each day. Both matches will be streamed for free on the Islanders Digital Network.

OPENING KICKOFF
• The Islanders round out their program record five-game homestand this weekend with a pair of Southland Conference matches against Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State.
• A&M-Corpus Christi is looking for its first conference win of the season after dropping the SLC opener last weekend to Abilene Christian.
• Freshman
Karla Kedenburg continues to lead the way in the back for the Islanders this season. The German international has played in and started every match for the Blue and Green this year with an average of 71 minutes per game.

• A&M-Corpus Christi dropped its SLC opener to Abilene Christian 4-0.
• A trio of first half goals for the Wildcats sent the Islanders to an 0-1 record in conference action.

Kendall Moody split time in net for the Blue and Green. Hightower recorded three saves, before Moody came in to make four stops in the second half.

• A&M-Corpus Christi currently ranks seventh in the nation this season in saves per game with an average of 8.75 stops per match.

Jordan Wainwright has accounted for the lion's share with 38 stops, while
Kendall Moody has chipped in 23 stops and
Tatum Hightower has added eight stops.
• The goalkeeping crew narrowly missed setting the school record for saves in a match with 14 stops at North Texas on Aug. 26, just two shy of the record set by Audrey Baldwin against Lamar on Oct. 13, 2013.

SCOUTING STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
• The Ladyjacks sit atop the conference table with a 1-0 record after knocking off Northwestern State last weekend.
• SFA is 4-2 on the season with losses coming against Oregon and Oregon State.
• Hanna Barker and Hailey Hunt have led the way in goal scoring with two apiece. The former also tops the assist chart with a trio of helpers.
• Lillie Ehlert has played in six matches with a 1.04 goals against average and an .848 save percentage.

SCOUTING SAM HOUSTON STATE
• The Bearkats have struggled through the initial stages of the season with an 0-9 record.
• Central Arkansas topped SHSU last weekend 4-1 in Conway, Ark.
• Sam Houston State has found the net just four times this year, with all four goals coming from different players.
• Head Coach Tom Brown has rotated goalkeepers with Bailey Swain and Anna Kaiser allowing an average of 4.46 goals per game.
