CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer team completes it five-game road stand to start the season this weekend at UTSA on Friday night at 7 P.M. The Islanders (0-4-0) are looking to bounce back from a pair of losses to North Texas and SMU last weekend.

THE OPENING KICKÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
• A&M-Corpus Christi wraps up its five-game road swing to start the season this weekend with a match on Friday against UTSA.
• Friday marks the third meeting between the Blue and Green and the Roadrunners. The Islanders won the first contest 2-1 in San Antonio in 2013, before a 0-0 draw at the Jack in 2014.
• The Islanders are still looking for their first win of the season, after dropping four matches on the road to start the year.

Jenna-Kaya Charles, a defender by trade, has appeared in four games, starting the last two, at the top of the formation.

LAST MATCHESÂ Â Â Â Â Â
• A&M-Corpus Christi played one of its best games of the season on Friday night against North Texas. The Islanders went into the halftime break trailing 1-0, after a penalty was awarded to the Mean Green in the 38th minute.
• North Texas pulled away in the second half with three goals in a span of nine minutes.
• On Sunday, the Islanders could not combat the offensive power of Southern Methodist, falling 9-0 in Dallas.

HOME ON THE HORIZONÂ Â
• Following the match at UTSA, the Islanders are set to return to the Dugan Soccer Stadium.
• The home opener on Sept. 9 against Houston will kick off a five-game stand at the Jack.
• A&M-Corpus Christi will face UTRGV in the return leg of the South Texas Showdown on Sept. 11 at 7 P.M.

• The Road Runners enter this weekend with a 2-1 record. All three of the matches for UTSA have come against Southland Conference opponents.
• Friday's match will be the home opener for the Road Runners.
• Kaja Skare and Katieanne Lochte have led the way in scoring with three goals apiece. Lochte has bagged her trio of scores on just six shots this season.
• Three different goalkeepers have played significant minutes in net for the Road Runners. .
• UTSA have outscored opponents nine-to-five this season, with an average of 17.3 shots per game.
