Alessia Gallo joined the Islanders Volleyball coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant ahead of the 2026 season. She was previously a student-athlete on the Islanders Volleyball team during the 2025 season. 

As a student-athlete:

2024 (Junior at Coppin State): Appeared in 28 games and 61 sets while making one start, seeing time at both libero and defensive specialist… Credited with 93 digs (1.52/set), 23 assists and eight aces… Tallied 15 digs at Wyoming (9/19) and Morgan State where she served three aces in a start (10/18)… Also posted eight digs at American (9/4) and at UMBC (10/16)… Served three aces against Lehigh (9/14).

2023 (Sophomore at Monroe College): Team’s starting libero who appeared in 104 sets over 32 matches… Totaled 424 digs (4.08/set) with 49 aces and 77 assists… Recorded a season-high 29 digs in the District Championship against eventual National Runner-Up Miami Dade… Second Team NJCAA All-Academic.
 
2022 (Freshman at Monroe College): Appeared in 115 sets over 38 matches… Finished with 206 digs (1.79/set) with 66 aces and 36 assists.
