As a Junior (2005 Season): Appeared in all but one game in her first season with the Islanders...Set the school record for digs in a season with 484 as well as set the school record in nearly every dig category...Set the school record for digs in a three-game match with 27 against Prairie View A&M as well as the record for digs in a four-game match with 26 against Iona...Set the record for digs in a five-game match with 27 against Utah Valley State...After just one season, already ranks seventh on the all-time dig list and ranks first on the school’s digs per game list with 4.21...Recorded double-digit kills in all but five matches and recorded at least 20 digs in 11 matches...Led the team in services aces with 35, recording at least three in five different matches...Had four aces against Long Island and recorded at least one ace in all but eight matches.

Prior to TAMUCC: Transferred from Texas-Pan American, where she was a two-time Independent Defensive Player of the Year honoree...As a sophomore, was ranked in the top- five nationally in digs averaging 6.12 a game...Set the UTPA record for digs in a season with 641...She was named the Independent Player of the Week five times as a sophomore and ended her two seasons at UTPA with 1,181 digs and is second on the school’s all-time dig list...She posted a career-high 42 digs against Texas-San Antonio, which was the second-highest total in the program’s history...As a sophomore she posted 24 consecutive matches with 20-or-more digs.

High School: Played four seasons at Spei High School in Curitiba, Brazil for Cristiane Koop...Was named the libero-of-the-year in the state of Parana four consecutive seasons...She led her team to a state championship in 1999 and 2002 as well as a national championship her senior season...Also lettered three years in track and field where she was the state champion in the high jump as a sophomore and the state champion in the javelin three consecutive years.

Personal: Born Feb. 18, 1984 in Curitiba, Brazil and is the daughter of Jane and Helio Marcengo of Curitiba, Brazil...Psychology major.
