CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer team wraps up its three-match homestand in the middle of this week, continuing conference play at the Dr. Jack Dugan Family Soccer and Track & Field Stadium against Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Islanders (3-5-3, 0-2-1 SLC) started their extended time back at their home stadium last week, first earning a draw with UTRGV last Thursday before then falling to McNeese two days later. The former of these two helped them earn their first point of conference play, with this week's matchup representing another opportunity to add on to that tally with their first conference win. Against the Vaqueros,
Katie Porter got back on the board with her sixth goal of the season, which ranks tied for fifth in the Southland Conference entering play for the new week.
A&M-Corpus Christi will attempt to right the ship against the Lady Lions (5-5-1, 1-2 SLC), who will be looking to turn things around themselves after dropping a pair of conference matches last week on the road at East Texas A&M and at home against UIW. The Islanders fell on the road to Southeastern by a final of 1-0 last year, but prior to that, they had emerged victorious by the same score in the previous two meetings, with one in Hammond and one in Corpus Christi. The Lady Lions are led on the attack by Alexandra Knight, who sits one goal ahead of Porter with seven on the year, and in net, Kendall Curran has started every match while posting a goals against average of 1.75 with 37 saves.
Thursday's match will be available to watch live with
