CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi athletic department announced a partnership with the Texas Army National Guard on Thursday, finalizing an official sponsorship in support of a pair of fall sports on the Islanders Athletics calendar.
As part of the agreement, Texas Army National Guard becomes Islanders Soccer's official presenting sponsor for the remainder of the 2026 campaign, covering the remaining 13 matches on the team's schedule following their best five-match start to a season in program history.
In addition, Islanders Volleyball's home tournament, which gets going on Thursday and runs through Saturday, will be known as the Southwest Showdown, presented by Texas Army National Guard. A&M-Corpus Christi plays host to in-state opponents Texas State, UTEP and UTRGV at the Dugan Wellness Center, starting its run off against the Miners on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before returning to action against the Bobcats the next day at 2 p.m.
