CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Returning back home from its first road trip of the season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer team wraps up its nonconference schedule over the weekend, playing host to UTEP on Sunday at 12 p.m.
The Islanders (3-2-2) come back to the friendly confines of the Dr. Jack Dugan Family Soccer & Track Stadium after recently wrapping up a two-match swing in California, falling in consecutive matches to CSU Bakersfield and Fresno State for their first two losses of the 2026 season. They will be looking to keep up their unbeaten streak at home that they started before departing west, when they earned points in five straight matches against Tarleton State, Texas A&M International, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston and Our Lady of the Lake to mark the first time accomplishing that feat to open a season in program history.
In order to get back on the right track, A&M-Corpus Christi will have to take down a hot Miners (5-0-2) team, who enters play with an unbeaten record themselves after most recently taking down Southland opponent UTRGV in Edinburg on Thursday. The two teams have squared off with each other just once before, with UTEP earning the victory in El Paso back on September 5, 2024. This year's version of the Miners is led by Zeta McDannels, who comes into play sitting atop the team's leaderboard with four goals.
Sunday's game will be available to watch live on ESPN+ with
