CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will welcome in Big 12 opponent Houston to Chapman Field for a notable 4 p.m. midweek Tuesday face off.
This will be the fifth different Power Four opponent the Islanders will face this year, and sixth game in total after facing Texas Tech earlier this season twice. The Islanders will be going for their first win over a Power opponent since defeating Iowa State back in the 2023 season (6-1).
It is the first time a Power Four program will play at Chapman Field since 2016 when the Islanders hosted both Big Ten Iowa and ACC Louisville a decade ago. The Islanders had defeated Iowa twice that season.
The Islanders trail Houston 18-10 in the all-time series, and will be going for their first win over the Cougars since 2022 when they won 8-7 in Houston.
