CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team hits the road to take on East Texas A&M on Thursday night in Southland Conference play. The match is set for 6:30 p.m. in Commerce, Texas.
The Islanders enter with a 5-10 record on the season and are 3-1 in SLC play, while the Lions sit at 8-9 overall and 2-2 in conference. Each side is coming off a home defeat in their last matches as TAMUCC fell to Incarnate Word 3-0 on Saturday and the Lions were swept by Southeastern Louisiana. The Islanders and Lions have faced off eight times with Corpus Christi leading the all-time series 7-1.
The Islanders are coming off their worst hitting match in conference play after having their best against Houston Christian the match prior.
Kenna Buchanan continues to lead the team in kills with 146, while
Tatum Mason broke the century mark last match as she finished with a team-high nine kills.
Ava Hight and
Virginia Van Der Werff continue to split time in rotation at setter and are both in the top ten of the SLC in assists.
Brooklyn Jaeger is ninth in the conference in digs with 221.
Through four games in SLC play, the Islanders sit tied for third in the conference with their 3-1 record and face two teams that are one game behind them going into the weekend.
