CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Gearing up toward the start of a new year, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team announced its schedule for the 2026 season on Tuesday, as revealed by head coach
Scott Malone.
"The release day for the official schedule drop for Islanders Baseball is always one of the more exciting days of the month of January, and this year is no different," said Malone, who is returning for his 19
th season at the helm of the program. "We can't wait to get started in front of our home fans on February 13."
The Islanders get things kicked off on campus, welcoming Northeast Conference opponent Stonehill College to Chapman Field for a four-game series from February 13-15 that includes a doubleheader on Valentine's Day. This is the first of a long stretch of games at home to open the year, with the team playing 17 of its first 18 contests in Corpus Christi.
"I think the first thing that's going to jump out to our fans is that this year's schedule is home heavy," Malone said. "We have a ton of home games on the Island, so our diehard Islanders Baseball fans are going to have a ton of opportunities to sit on the berm and watch the Islanders play right on campus."
After a midweek stop in College Station to take on Texas A&M on February 17, the Islanders then return home to compete in the 16
th annual Kleberg Bank College Classic, which will take place on February 20-22 at Whataburger Field. A&M-Corpus Christi starts that weekend off with a game against Cal State Bakersfield on Friday before then squaring off with Long Beach State on Saturday and wrapping things up versus Pittsburgh on Sunday.
"The Kleberg Bank College Classic will be another outstanding edition," Malone said. "We have some West Coast flavor this year in Cal State Bakersfield and one of the more respected traditional baseball programs in Long Beach State, and then to finish off the tournament, we have a powerhouse school from the ACC in Pittsburgh. The 2026 Kleberg Classic is another stellar group."
The Islanders continue nonconference play from there, welcoming Prairie View A&M and UTSA to town on February 24 and March 3 in between two different series against Texas Southern at Chapman Field, with the first being a three-gamer from February 27-March 1 and the second being a two-gamer from March 10-11. The remainder of the nonconference schedule after these games will take place on the road, with the team making midweek stops at UTSA (March 24), Rice (April 7), Prairie View A&M (April 8), Texas (April 14), Texas State (April 28) and Houston (May 5) before the season wraps up. During the middle of this stretch, the Islanders will also return back to Whataburger Field to take on the Corpus Christi Hooks for an exhibition game on March 31.
A&M-Corpus Christi begins its Southland Conference slate on March 6, hosting Nicholls for a three-game series at Chapman Field. In addition to this set, the Islanders will also play Lamar (March 20-22), Stephen F. Austin (April 2-4), McNeese (April 17-19) and Houston Christian (May 1-3) at home while hitting the road to face Northwestern State (March 13-15), UTRGV (March 27-29), Southeastern Louisiana (April 10-12), UIW (April 24-26) and New Orleans (May 5-8). The road series against the Vaqueros will be counted toward the South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union.
The conclusion of the regular season will lead into the Southland Conference Baseball Championship, which begins on Thursday, May 14. The location of the tournament will be determined based on the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the final conference standings. The Championship Series is currently set for May 21-23 at the home of the highest remaining seed.
