EDINBURG, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team is hitting the road once again, this time staying in-state as they head down to Edinburg to compete in UTRGV's Southwest Showdown Thursday and Friday.
The Islanders (1-2) will face a couple of Texas-foes this week in neutral matchups, first playing UTEP Thursday before squaring off with Texas State Friday both with starts at 3:30 p.m.
The Islanders are coming off a 1-2 trip in Arizona to begin the season, closing it out with a 3-0 sweep over Alabama State. Notably standing out was sophomore
Virginia Van Der Werff who came away with the first Southland Conference Setter of the Week accolade for the season after leading the league with 9.00 assists/set over opening weekend.
This week will be the second set of neutral matches for the Islanders, who are currently 1-1 on a neutral court this year. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
