Women's Basketball Reloads With 10 New Additions to 2025-26 Roster

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Head coach Toyelle Wilson announced 10 new additions to the 2025-26 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball roster on Tuesday, finalizing her first group of players at the helm of the Islanders program.
 
All 10 come to the Island via transfer, with the list of players consisting of Masiel Reyes, K'Nari Holliday, Asiana Britt, Tamar voor de Poort, Chelsea Wooten, Asha Walker, Marissa Shelton, Rayna Williams, Sydney Pettis and Trinity Slocum.
 
Reyes, a product of Riverview, Florida, is a 5'9 guard that transfers in after two seasons at Hillsborough Community College. During her time with the Hawks, Reyes showcased her prolific scoring ability, averaging 20.5 points per game across 55 career games. She finished in the top 20 in scoring average in all of NJCAA Division I in both of her seasons with HCC, coming in all the way up at second in 2023-24 after averaging 22.2 points before following that up last year with 18.4 points per game, which was good for a 16th place finish. Reyes also excelled on the boards at this time, averaging 6.8 rebounds per game and leading the Hawks in that category in back-to-back years.
 
Holliday, a native of Apopka, Florida, is a 6'2 forward that joins the team as a transfer after playing for the University of West Georgia for each of the last two years. She appeared in 30 games for the Wolves during the 2024-25 season and made 11 starts, averaging 8.5 points per game while finishing 17th in the Atlantic Sun Conference in rebounding at 6.0 per game. In 2023-24, she led all of Division II in field goal percentage, knocking down 61.7 percent of her shots from the field while also recording eight double-doubles that year. Prior to joining UWG, Holliday started her collegiate career at Barry University, where she was named the Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year after averaging 7.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in just 12.4 minutes per game.
 
Britt, a 5'8 guard from Jacksonville, Florida, comes to the team as a transfer from Florida SouthWestern State College. In her one season with the Buccaneers, she started all 31 of the team's games, averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Prior to last season, Britt started out her collegiate career at Jacksonville, appearing in 23 games off the bench as a freshman and totaling 51 points and 33 rebounds.
 
voor de Poort, a 6'0 guard/forward from Doetinchem, Netherlands, transfers to the Island after two years with St. Bonaventure. She played in 40 total games during her time with the Bonnies, scoring 26 points to go along with 22 rebounds, eight assists and five steals. Before her collegiate career, voor de Poort spent six seasons with Lekdetec.nl Bemmel in the Netherlands, including three with the senior team, where she averaged 3.0 points and 1.5 rebounds across 31 total games.
 
Wooten, from McKinney, Texas, is a 5'9 guard that joins the Islanders as a transfer from Western Carolina. Last season with the Catamounts, she started 26 of the 30 games she appeared in, averaging 7.4 points per game while also recording the 1000th point of her collegiate career. Before WCU, Wooten also played for both College of Charleston and McLennan Community College, where at the latter of which she earned the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) Newcomer of the Year award after averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
 
Walker, out of Fremont, California, is a 5'10 guard that transfers in after playing for Chicago State last season. With the Cougars, she played in 29 total games and started 11, averaging 5.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. In her first game at the Division I level last year, she had a signature performance against Big 12 opponent Iowa State, scoring 18 points on 7-17 shooting from the field and 4-13 from distance. Prior to 2024-25, Walker started her collegiate career at Stanislaus State, where she averaged 6.0 points and 1.9 rebounds per game across 27 contests.
 
Shelton, a 5'8 guard from South Bend, Indiana, comes to the team after spending three seasons at Saint Francis. During her time with the Red Flash, she averaged 5.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game, doing so across 65 career games. Shelton's most successful season came in 2024-25, where she started 22 of the 30 games that she played in and set new career highs with 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 22.1 minutes per game. This included the best game of her career so far, a 20-point scoring performance on 6-9 shooting against Mercyhurst on March 6.
 
Williams, a native of The Colony, Texas, is a 6'1 forward that joins the Islanders after starting her collegiate career at Fresno State. In her one season with the Bulldogs, she played in all 34 of the team's contests, averaging 2.0 points and 2.9 rebounds on 50 percent shooting from the field in 13.0 minutes per game. Prior to college, Williams attended Legion Preparatory Academy in Dallas, where she earned First Team All-State honors and scored over 1,000 career points.
 
Pettis, a 6'2 forward from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, follows associate head coach Tron Griffin to the Island after spending the 2024-25 campaign playing under Griffin at North Florida. With the Ospreys, she played in 25 games and made nine starts, totaling 36 points and 35 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game. Pettis started her time in college at Moberly Area Community College, appearing in 26 games and averaging 8.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game during her freshman season.
 
Slocum, a product of Boise, Idaho, is a 5'8 guard that comes to the Island after most recently playing for CSU Bakersfield last season. In her only season with the Roadrunners, she played in 16 games and started eight, averaging 4.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 19.1 minutes per game. Slocum also spent a year with current Southland Conference foe Stephen F. Austin in 2023-24 and started her career with two seasons at Whatcom Community College.

The 10 newcomers will join a group of four returners to the Islanders' roster, with those being senior Bruna Anguera, senior Samora Watson, redshirt sophomore Torie Sevier and sophomore Naiya Carney. These four players combined to play in 94 games and started 25 in 2024-25, averaging 13.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.7 blocks per game between them.
