Men’s Tennis Ranks Top-10 in ITA Texas Regional

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its end-of-year regional rankings for 2025 and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team came in at No. 9 in one of the toughest regions in the country.

Out of 24 NCAA Division I men's tennis programs in the state of Texas, the Islanders graced the top-10 list after a 21-5 season which featured an undefeated Southland Conference regular season championship.

It is the 11th year in a row that Islanders Tennis has had the men's or women's team recognized as a top-10 program in Texas.

"To be ranked in the top-10 in Texas is a very proud accomplishment! These hardworking, team-first Islanders fought for each other all year! They really developed and just kept improving every week. We are incredibly proud of their heart and character!" said head coach Steve Moore.

The Islanders notched in-state wins over Prairie View, Alcorn State, UTRGV, UIW, and Lamar. Three of their five losses this year came to programs also on the Texas Regional Top 10 list, including Rice, SMU, and UT-Arlington.

The Islanders were last ranked in the top-10 following the 2023 season where they came in at No. 10 after a 20-8 record and a SLC Tournament Championship that took them to the NCAA Tournament. The men have a total of 23 championships which makes them one of the winningest teams in the conference across all sports.
