Adrian Rodriguez announced Friday a change in leadership for the softball program as head coach
Kathleen Rodriguez will not have her contract renewed.
"We are thankful for Coach
Kathleen Rodriguez's dedication to our student-athletes and the hard work she put into the softball program over the last four seasons. We appreciate the impact she has had on our softball community and wish her the very best in her future endeavors," said
Adrian Rodriguez.
"This was not an easy decision; however, it reflects our commitment to building a softball program that consistently competes at the highest level within our conference and nationally and matches the high standard of excellence demonstrated by our Islanders women's athletic programs. Our focus now turns to identifying a new leader for our Islanders Softball program," said
Adrian Rodriguez.
Coach
Kathleen Rodriguez served as the head softball coach since the 2022 season, compiling an 82-109 overall record and a 37-56 mark in Southland Conference play. The decision to part ways comes after the Islanders saw a 12-36 overall record and 6-21 conference mark in 2025.
A national search for the next head softball coach will begin immediately.
