CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team gets a new era in program history started this week, tipping off the 2025-26 season against The College of Biblical Studies on Monday at 5 p.m. CT in the first game under the leadership of new head coach Toyelle Wilson.
The Islanders come into the year with a host of fresh faces, welcoming a whole new coaching staff under Wilson and nine new players to the roster to join holdovers
Bruna Anguera,
Samora Watson,
Torie Sevier and
Naiya Carney. This group will look to make it back to the Southland Conference Basketball Championships after last year's version of the squad extended the program's postseason streak up to four seasons in a row. In total, A&M-Corpus Christi has made it to the conference tournament in seven of the last eight possible seasons, with the only time away coming in 2020-21. One of these years resulted in a berth in the NCAA Tournament as well, a place that Wilson will be aiming to reach for a fourth time as a head coach and a 14
th time overall.
Monday's game will be available to watch live on ESPN+ with Doug Kesterson on the call. The live stats will also be available to follow along as they happen.
