HAMMOND, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team couldn't cool off a hot-hitting Southeastern and fell 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 21-25) on the road Thursday night in the University Center.
The Islanders (14-10, 9-5 SLC) leaned heavily on the upperclassman to keep each set tight, but the Lady Lions (21-4, 13-0 SLC) were able to maintain their undefeated streak with a more balanced attack to edge out A&M-Corpus Christi each time.
"Southeastern played really well and consistent all match long," said head coach
Steve Greene. "We have some opportunities to work on things both offensively and defensively as we continue to work on improving. I'm confident with leaders like Kyndal [Payne], Alex [Hoglund], and Leah [Stolfus] that they will push their teammates to put in their best efforts and we will continue to get better and better each day."
The loss came despite the efforts of veteran seniors

Payne led the team as well in digs with 11 for her 14
th double-double of the year. Stolfus turned in her 15
th double figure kill performance this season and third in a row.
They were graduate
Alex Hoglund's go-tos for the match, as they accounted for 31 of her 37 total assists on the night. She ran the offense to a .247, as tonight is just the third time this year that A&M-Corpus Christi lost despite hitting above .200.
