HAMMOND, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team will begin its campaign back to a championship and NCAA berth when they take on No. 7 Lamar in the Southland Conference Quarterfinals Friday at 1 p.m. in the University Center on the campus of Southeastern.
The Islanders (17-10, 12-4 SLC) enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed for the second year in a row, taking on Lamar (15-13, 7-9 SLC) for the first ever time in the postseason. It will also be A&M-Corpus Christi's first time playing the No. 7 seed going into their 13
th tournament appearance.
The Islanders are going for their eighth overall conference championship and fourth tournament title. They last won in 2021 when they were both the regular season and tournament champions. Head coach
Steve Greene has guided the Islanders to five of their seven championships.
All tournament matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
