CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Continuing to play in tough conditions, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf program ended in fifth-place out of 15 schools at the Islander Classic on Tuesday at Corpus Christi Country Club.

In the howling wind, the Islanders shot a 327 in the final round for a three round total of 956 (+92).

"It wasn't the round we were looking for today - conditions were again very difficult. As I told the team after play, we have some work to do," said head coach
Pat Stephens. "Our focus now is on getting ready for our next tournament at UTRGV.

Sophomore
Reagan Gray recorded a team-best score of 238 to finish in 17th-place on the leaderboard. Senior
Lucy Martinez was two strokes behind with a 240 for a top-25 placement.

Tied for 28th with 242 scores were senior
Maria Beltran and junior
Reese Drezins. Freshman
Elsa Tornvall ended with a 247.

The Islanders will next compete in the UTRGV Invitational on March 6-7 in Edinburg, Texas. A&M-Corpus Christi won the tournament last year.
