CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team will return to its home court on a five-match winning streak, hosting New Orleans Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Nicholls Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Dugan Wellness Center.
The Islanders (11-8, 6-1 SLC) have gone on the road the last two weeks and picked up four wins, as well as sweeping McNeese at home between road swings. The five-match winning streak is the longest since 2021 when A&M-Corpus Christi opened conference play that year 8-0.
A&M-Corpus Christi turned in big performances last week to defeat Northwestern State 3-2 and A&M-Commerce 3-1. Against the Lady Demons, the Islanders recorded 106 digs, 80 kills, and 76 assists, all of which were six or less shy of breaking each program record in a five-set match.
Those numbers were reached in part to graduate

In conference play, the Islanders lead the league in points per set (18.80), hitting percentage (.277), assists per set (14.88), kills per set (16.08), and digs per set (19.00).

Nicholls (2-15, 0-7 SLC) will be gunning for its first conference win of the season, first taking on UIW Thursday before heading to Corpus Christi. The Colonels are captained by setter Kendall Battistella as one of only two to play in every set this year. She averages 4.21 assists/set as well as 1.67 digs/set.
The Islanders lead both teams in the all-time records, going 11-2 against New Orleans and 20-1 against Nicholls. A&M-Corpus Christi has not lost a home match to either team since 2008.
