CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honored the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball program with a 2022 Team Academic Award.

The award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or above. The Islanders tallied a 3.76 for 2021-22 and hoist a 3.79 cumulative GPA.

Four Islanders earned Southland Conference All-Academic including
Faith Panhans,
Carissa Barnes,
Rachel Young and
Julia Carter. Panhans was also the SLC Student-Athlete of the Year.

The Islanders won both the SLC regular season and conference tournaments last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
