HAMMOND, Louisiana – The Southland Conference released the bracket for the 2022 volleyball conference tournament, and the reigning SLC Tournament Champions of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team was seeded fourth and will play Friday, Nov. 18 at 2p.m. at the University Center, hosted by Southeastern Louisiana.
The Islanders tied for second place with No. 2 Southeastern and
No. 3 McNeese and thus secured the No. 4 seed for the tournament due to tiebreaks. A&M-Corpus Christi earned a first-round bye and will begin its 2022 tournament berth on Friday in the quarterfinals against either No. 5 Northwestern State or No 8. UIW.
All matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The championship match is set for Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. The tournament champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball tournament, hosted in Omaha, Nebraska, beginning Dec. 1 or 2.
The Islanders will be playing for their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and third in a row.
