EL DORADO, Ark. – Posting its best round of the tournament Wednesday, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf program ended in fourth-place at the Southland Conference Championships, its best finish since 2011.

The Islanders carded a 325 in round three for a 983 overall score after three days at Mystic Creek Golf Club. It came after they shot a 327 in round one on Monday and a 331 in round two on Tuesday.

A&M-Corpus Christi entered the final day in fifth and surpassed Incarnate Word in the standings for fourth. It was the fifth time in seven meets this spring that the Islanders recorded their best score in the final round.

Freshman
Lucie Charbonnier led the way for A&M-Corpus Christi individually. She finished in sixth-place with a 232 score. Sophomore
Lucy Martinez ended in 17th-place overall with a 244 score.

Kellsey Sample, junior
Kelli Ann Dugan and freshman
Reese Drezins all registered their best round in round three. Sample submitted a 254, Dugan followed with a 257 and Drezins 258.

A&M-Corpus Christi has finished top-five in five of its last six meets.

The Islanders will continue their postseason on May 3-5 when they compete in the 2021 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
