"This was a disappointing day for us as a team; certainly not the scores we expected with the conditions today. I was very pleased with the play from Lucy and Lucie. Solid golf - they made good decisions and showed a lot of patience out there. Although our other three did not produce this round, we saw glimpses of what they are capable of doing on this course, and we are looking forward to getting back out there for tomorrow's round," said head coach
Joni Stephens.
Â
Individually, sophomore
Lucy Martinez shined and sits in fourth-place. She shot a 76, which included three birdies. Martinez is five strokes behind the leader Jennifer Herbst from SHSU.
Â
A trio of birdies also came from freshman
Lucie Charbonnier. She turned in a 78, which was good for 12th-place.
Â
Senior
Kellsey Sample recorded an 86 and junior
Kelli Ann Dugan was one stroke behind at 87. Freshman
Reese Drezins ended with a 91.

The Southland champion will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Regionals.
